Good morning,
As promised, here is a summary of the three workshops available from September.
For INSET Days, twilight sessions and in-school workshop training, the 3 choices of session available are:
1. Flamingo. How to unlock your inner positivity and boost your wellbeing.
2. Stretch. How to understand and embed a growth mindset approach in school.
3. Blueprint. How to put the bounce back into your teaching step.
Flamingo. How to unlock your inner positivity and boost your wellbeing.
Problems your school might be facing:
>Burnt out staff members
>Low level negativity
>A culture of complaining
>Habitual waiting for half term
>Staff who want wellbeing to be ‘given’ to them
The benefits of this training:
>Staff will be reenergised and supercharged
>Staff will be well placed to deal with future challenges
>A deep understanding of what wellbeing is and isn’t
>A strong current of resilience amongst staff
>A sense of personal leadership where staff will be empowered to take responsibility for their wellbeing
>A school wide approach of contributing to and maintaining a culture of wellbeing
Stretch. How to understand and embed a growth mindset approach in school.
Problems your school might be facing:
>Lovely laminated growth mindset displays without any deep understanding of what it really means
>Believing the misconception that growth mindset is about not giving up and trying hard
>A focus on being right, rather than on learning something new
>Staff and children afraid of being wrong or making mistakes
>Higher achieving children being labelled as ‘clever’ and having lower levels of resilience
The benefits of this training:
>A clearer understanding of what a growth mindset is
>A deep grasp of the neuroscience of learning gains and skill development
>Practical strategies to enable children to engage in deep practice and build motivation and momentum
>How to use failure and mistakes to bounce forward
>How to give timely, precise and valuable feedback
>An understanding of brain development which will enable all staff to help children achieve their highest potential
Blueprint. How to put the bounce back into your teaching step.
Problems your school might be facing:
>A focus on doing over learning
>Accidental low expectations of children
>Lessons not planned with small enough steps in learning
>Too much teacher talk (and sometimes waffle)
>Learning intentions and success criteria too general or underused
>Children not always challenged
>Low impact feedback
The benefits of this training:
>An understanding of the importance of learning over doing
>How to articulate high expectations to children
>How to coherently plan learning experiences in small progressive steps
>How to talk with clarity and avoid over talking
>A clear grasp of the impact of learning intentions and success criteria
>Practical strategies for high impact feedback
Each session can be a full INSET Day, half day, or a 2-hour twilight.
If you’re interested - then let me know and we can talk further.

Until next time.
