Hello and Happy Monday,
Here’s 3 from me.
1.
Standards and outcomes are important for children and schools - but not at the detriment of children’s wellbeing and personal development.
If you hothouse reading, writing and maths - yes, you’ll probably get great outcomes - but will children be resilient, well rounded and able to function in society as an individual and a part of a group…?
The outcomes alone won’t bring happiness.
Ethos over outcomes.
2.
What if…
Happier children achieve better in school?
Happier staff teach better lessons?
Happier communities are more likely to flourish?
Sometimes I hear “Are you just telling me to think more positively?”
It’s more subtle than that.
If you think positively about winning the lottery and visualise your numbers coming up - it isn’t any more likely you will win.
It’s the same for life. If you try to think more positively but don’t make any change - will anything at all really change?
If you want positive change - you have to make positive change.
3.
My training isn’t designed to be a one off. It’s designed to be a blueprint for change.
Research shows voluntary internal change will more than likely lead to a lasting improvement of happiness. (Seligman, 2000)
Can you afford NOT to take action?

Until next time.
Best wishes,
