Hello - and Happy Monday,
I hope this email finds you well.
Here’s three from me…
1.
Outcomes for children are undeniably important, but they should never come at the cost of the mental health and wellbeing of anyone in the school community.
For this reason, outcomes cannot really be the school’s number one priority.
If you want to get great outcomes, then you have to get the culture right first. If you can do that, then it supercharges everything else to fall into place.
Ethos over outcomes. Always.
2.
The first step for building a compounding, compelling and positive ethos is a good attitude.
A good attitude costs you nothing.
A bad attitude can cost you everything.
3.
It can be hard to make a cultural change because it’s really about changing a set of core beliefs amongst a group of people.
It isn’t overnight and it takes time. Which means it’s easy to feel disillusioned.
But just because you’re struggling, it doesn’t mean you’re failing.

Until next time.
