Hello - and Happy Monday,
I hope this email finds you well.
Today’s newsletter is all about self-care. If you find it useful, or have a colleague who you think could benefit from the key messages - then please pass it on to them.
1.
The first element of self-care comes from within. You need to have better and more understanding conversations with yourself.
If you had a friend who spoke to you the way you speak to yourself - would you be friends with them?
2.
Give yourself the present of being present. The feeling of flow is when you are absorbed, engaged and focused on an activity that time flies by.
Focus on being present and achieving a flow state for just 15 minutes a day at first. It might be reading, drawing, walking, gardening, gaming, cooking, singing, dancing - or whatever else takes your fancy. But schedule it in.
Make an appointment with yourself every day for the next week - and show up for the benefit of your future self.
3.
Sleep is our most underused ingredient for happiness and high levels of wellbeing. This might sound peculiar, but at least one night a week I go to bed at the same time as my children. The thinking behind this is that by prioritising my sleep I am giving my future self the best chance to wake up energised and ready to make positive habitual choices.

Until next time.
